The Ballad of the Beatles is now live on our YouTube channel, and I wanted to share the story of how this unique fan project came to life. What started as a simple message from a visitor became an international collaboration between three people who had never met, all united by a shared love of the Fab Four.
How The Ballad Of The Beatles Arrived
A few weeks ago, I was contacted by Joseph Marc Steinman, a 76-year-old musician from the United States. Joseph wrote and recorded an original tribute song to the Beatles and wanted fans to hear it. After discovering BeatlesFan.Club, he reached out directly and offered the song to us — completely free of charge — simply because he wanted it to live somewhere meaningful.
From his first message, it was clear that the Beatles still meant a great deal to him. He wanted the song to be heard in a genuine fan setting rather than disappear into the online void, and he made it clear throughout that he was happy for us to share it.
Liverpool Footage From Paul Daley
Not long after, I came across a set of beautifully filmed Liverpool clips on Pixabay, including scenes of the famous Beatles statues at the waterfront. The footage was created by Paul Daley, a Liverpool-based contributor. I contacted him directly for clarity, and he kindly confirmed that we had permission to use his work in our project.
Suddenly, the pieces began to fit:
- A song from the United States
- Liverpool visuals from the UK
- And editing and production from here in Sunderland
It became a small but genuine international Beatles collaboration, brought together through goodwill rather than business.
Producing the Lyric Video
Once we secured permission, we assembled everything into a proper tribute video. This meant:
- Designing custom opening and closing cards
- Ensuring all credits were clear and legally compliant
- Creating smooth transitions between the Liverpool clips
- Syncing the lyrics line by line
- Mastering the audio and video for YouTube
The aim was simple:
to create a lyric video that treats Joseph’s song and Paul’s footage with the respect they deserve.
The finished result is a fan-made tribute built around permission, clear crediting, and original presentation, making it suitable for long-term use across our website, forum, and social media channels.
What This Project Says About Beatles Fandom
John, Paul, George and Ringo inspired generations across the world. In a small way, this project reflects that same spirit — people in different places, contributing different skills, coming together for something creative.
Joseph in the US, Paul in Liverpool, and myself here in Sunderland each added a piece to the puzzle. The video exists because of that teamwork.
