Yellow Submarine Anniversary Single: Introduction

This July (2018) sees the 50th anniversary of the landmark Yellow Submarine film (1968); check that out here. Of course, that film saw Beatles characters become part of an epic cartoon film. Obviously, we had the usual Fab Four humour and their classic music. However, now we are in for a treat with the prospect of a Yellow Submarine Anniversary Single Picture Disc.

In short, the release will see the 1966 double A-side single (the band’s 13th) become available yet again. Then, the single was a number one record around the world, with the flip side being ‘Eleanor Rigby.’ This limited edition picture disc will sell like hot cakes, so make sure you get yours asap.

Not only that, but keep your eyes open for other memorabilia becoming available too. Although these are current, they will become collectable items without doubt.

Obviously, you will get a 7″ vinyl single (picture disc) with the two songs listed above. However, you also get 4K high-definition images from the film. Of course, those are pictures from the restored remake of the film. As well as those, you get a colourful disc and sleeves to match.

The original single got to number-one in many countries, such as the UK, Australia and New Zealand. However, in the States, it only got to number two. At the top of the US charts were The Supremes with “You Can’t Hurry Love.” However, John Lennon’s outspoken, “More popular than Jesus” quote didn’t help!
