All For Love: Beatles Song.

All For Love: Introduction

There isn’t an officially recognized Beatles song titled “All For Love.” However, the phrase “All For Love” is often associated with a rumoured collaboration between the surviving members of The Beatles (Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr) and Jeff Lynne of Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) during the mid-1990s Anthology project.

Even though rumours say that the song exists, no evidence has come forward yet.

During the mid-1990s, the surviving Beatles members worked on the Anthology project. Moreover, this included the release of the “Anthology” documentary series and three double albums. As part of this project, they worked on finishing some of John Lennon’s demo recordings to create new Beatles songs.

When Yoko Ono gave the surviving Beatles a simple cassette with John Lennon’s home recordings, they decided to create something from them. Indeed, the surviving band members turned two Lennon demos into singles:

  • Free as a Bird (1995)—find this track here.
  • Real Love (1996)—this song is here.

Of course, both of these singles charted, but there was rumour of a third song.

1. Origin of the Rumour

  1. Collaborative Work: During the Anthology sessions, there was speculation that McCartney, Harrison, and Starr, along with Jeff Lynne, worked on an additional new song for the series.
  2. Unconfirmed Status: Unlike “Free as a Bird” and “Real Love,” no band member or friend can confirm if “All For Love” exists. Furthermore, their close associates know nothing, and there is no official release or widely circulated information.

2. Speculations and Confusion

  • Fan Theories: Some fans believe that this missing song might have been a working title. Alternatively, was it an incomplete, early version of another track?
  • No Official Release: As of 2019, there has been no official release. Moreover, there is no detailed information about a song titled “All For Love” by The Beatles.

While this missing song comes up in discussions about The Beatles’ mid-1990s activities, there is no verified song in their discography. The confirmed Beatles-related songs from the Anthology project are “Free as a Bird” and “Real Love,” both of which involved completing John Lennon’s demos with new contributions from McCartney, Harrison, and Starr.

Finally, if this song does materialise, the Beatles Fan Club will be here to tell it all.
